About Arlington Food Assistance Center
Founded in 1995, the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing hunger and food insecurity in Arlington County and surrounding neighborhoods. Operating out of a centrally located warehouse, AFAC partners with local agencies, churches, schools, and businesses to collect, store, and distribute food to those who need it most.
Our mission is simple: **No one in Arlington should go hungry.** We achieve this by providing highquality, nutritious food, offering nutrition education, and creating a welcoming environment for volunteers and clients alike.
Core Services
- Food Distribution: Weekly pantry drops, mobile Food on Wheels deliveries, and emergency food boxes.
- Nutrition Education: Cooking classes, budgeting workshops, and personalized meal planning.
- Community Partnerships: Collaboration with schools for backpack programs and with senior centers for MealsonWheels.
- Volunteer Coordination: Opportunities for individuals, families, and corporate groups to assist with sorting, packing, and outreach.
