Program Overview
The Beadie Luminaries Scholarship Program is a prestigious, meritbased award offered by the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. Established to recognize exceptional undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service, the scholarship provides financial support and professional development opportunities that help recipients become future business leaders.
Each year, the program selects a small cohort of scholarstypically 10 to 15 individualswho will join a vibrant community of peers, faculty mentors, and industry professionals. The initiative focuses not only on funding education but also on fostering a culture of innovation, ethical decisionmaking, and social responsibility.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Beedie Luminaries Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled as a fulltime undergraduate in the Beedie School of Business.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or student organizations.
- Show evidence of community involvement and a commitment to social impact.
- Submit a personal statement and two letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional or communitybased).
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; international students may apply if they meet the residency requirements of the university.
Scholarship Benefits

Application Process

- Gather Documents: Prepare official transcripts, a rsum, personal statement (max 1,000 words), and two recommendation letters.
- Complete Online Form: Visit the scholarship portal on the Beedie website and fill out the application form.
- Submit Materials: Upload all required documents before the deadline (usually midDecember).
- Interview Stage: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30minute virtual interview with the selection committee.
- Decision Notification: Successful applicants are notified in late February and invited to a welcome ceremony.
