Regents Music Scholarship 2022

Overview

The Regents Music Scholarship 2022 is an annual award established by Regent Conservatory to support outstanding young musicians pursuing highereducation studies in music. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers, encourage artistic development, and foster a community of dedicated performers and scholars.

Since its inception in 2015, the program has recognized more than 200 scholars across a variety of instruments, voice, composition, and music technology. The 2022 cohort continues this tradition, offering a substantial monetary award and mentorship opportunities.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college or university music program for the 20222023 academic year.
• Demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) in their current studies.
• Show evidence of exceptional musical ability through audition recordings, live performance, or competition results.
• Be a resident of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or any EU member state.
• Be under the age of 25 on July 1, 2022.

Benefits of the Scholarship

Each selected scholar receives:

• Financial award: $6,000 payable directly to the recipients institution.
• Mentorship: Oneonone guidance from a Regent Conservatory faculty member for the duration of the scholarship year.
• Performance opportunities: Invitations to perform at Regents annual spring recital and at partner venues.
• Professional development: Access to masterclasses, workshops, and networking events with industry leaders.
• Alumni community: Membership in the Regent Scholar network for ongoing support and collaboration.

Application Process

Applications are submitted exclusively online through the official Regent portal. The process consists of three main steps:

1. Create an account on the scholarship portal and fill out the personal information form.
2. Upload supporting documents:
   • Official transcript or academic record.
   • Two recent performance videos (maximum 5 minutes each) or a link to a public video platform.
   • A letter of recommendation from a music teacher, conductor, or professional mentor.
   • A personal essay (500800 words) describing musical goals, influences, and how the scholarship will impact your education.
3. Submit the application. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email with a reference number.

All materials are reviewed by a panel of faculty members and external experts. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a live or virtual interview.
