Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) was founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. as the first Greek-lettered organization established by African American college-educated women. With over 1,000 chapters and nearly 300,000 initiates worldwide, AKA is dedicated to promoting academic excellence, providing scholarships, offering support to the underserved, engaging in advocacy, and creating solutions to problems within our communities.
For over 115 years, Alpha Kappa Alpha has been at the forefront of addressing critical social issues through its international programs and initiatives. The sorority's signature programs focus on education, health, economic empowerment, the arts, global poverty, and social justice.
Chartered on May 15, 1995, the Xi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has been a beacon of service and leadership in the community. As a graduate chapter, Xi Tau Omega consists of professional women dedicated to upholding the sorority's mission of "Service to All Mankind" through meaningful programs, community partnerships, and scholarship opportunities.
The chapter has consistently demonstrated its commitment to education through various scholarship programs designed to support local students.
