Scholarship Overview
The Amana Society, Inc. $1,000 Scholarship is designed to recognize and support highschool seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and a commitment to personal growth. Each year, a single award of $1,000 is granted to a deserving applicant who aligns with the values of Amana Societyintegrity, service, and lifelong learning.
This scholarship is not tied to any specific field of study; instead, it seeks wellrounded individuals who plan to use their education to make a positive impact in their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the award, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an accredited high school, college, or university for the upcoming academic year.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, or leadership roles.
- Submit a complete application by the deadline (see Deadline & Selection).
Note: Students who have previously received this exact scholarship are not eligible to apply again.
Application Requirements
All materials must be submitted electronically through the online portal linked at the bottom of this page.
- Application Form A short questionnaire covering personal information, academic background, and future goals.
- Official Transcript A PDF of the most recent official transcript showing the required GPA.
- Personal Essay (500800 words) Explain why you deserve the scholarship, how you plan to use the funds, and how your experiences align with Amana Societys values.
- Letter of Recommendation One letter from a teacher, counselor, employer, or community leader who can speak to your character and achievements.
- Proof of Residency A copy of a drivers license, state ID, or utility bill confirming U.S. residency.
All documents must be in PDF format and not exceed 2MB per file.
How to Apply
Follow these steps to submit a complete application:
- Visit the Amana Scholarship Portal.
- Create a secure account with a valid email address.
- Complete the online application form and upload each required document.
- Review your submission to ensure all fields are filled and files are attached.
- Click Submit Application. You will receive an automated confirmation email.
- If any document is missing, the review committee will contact you within two weeks of the deadline.
Keep a copy of all submitted files for your records; the system does not allow edits after final submission.
Deadline & Selection Process
Application Deadline: March 31, 2027 (11:59PM EST)
Submitted applications will be evaluated by a panel of Amana Society staff and community volunteers. The selection process consists of three stages:
- Initial Screening Verify eligibility and completeness of materials.
- Qualitative Review Assess essays, recommendations, and extracurricular involvement.
- Final Decision The panel selects the candidate whose goals most closely reflect the scholarships purpose.
Applicants will be notified of the decision by May 15, 2027. The award amount will be disbursed directly to the recipients chosen educational institution or, if applicable, as a stipend for approved educational expenses.

Can I apply if Im a transfer student?
Yes. Transfer students who meet the GPA and residency requirements are eligible.
Do I need to be a member of Amana Society?
No. Membership is not required; the scholarship is open to all qualifying students.
What can the scholarship funds be used for?
The $1,000 can be applied toward tuition, fees, textbooks, supplies, or other approved educational costs.
Is there a limit on how many scholarships I can receive in a year?
If you receive a different scholarship from another organization, you may still apply. However, you cannot receive more than one Amana Society scholarship.
