Overview

The AndrewMcMorris Foundation Scholarship was established in 2005 by philanthropist and entrepreneur Andrew McMorris. The mission of the foundation is to remove financial barriers for highpotential students who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and a commitment to personal growth. Each year, the foundation awards a select group of scholars with tuition assistance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Scholarships are open to undergraduate and graduate students studying at accredited institutions in the United States and Canada. The foundation believes that investing in talent creates a ripple effect, strengthening families, communities, and ultimately, the global economy.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the AndrewMcMorris Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
• Enroll or plan to enroll in an accredited, degreegranting program (undergraduate or graduate).
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or employment.
• Submit a personal essay (500800 words) describing career goals and how the scholarship will help achieve them.
• Provide two letters of recommendationone academic and one from a community or professional reference.

Applicants who have previously received a fullride scholarship from another organization are still eligible, provided they can demonstrate a genuine financial need.

What Recipients Receive

Successful scholars are awarded a package that includes:

• Financial Support: Up to $10,000 per academic year, applied directly to tuition, fees, or approved educational expenses.
• Mentorship: Pairing with a senior professional from the foundations network for guidance, networking, and career advice.
• Leadership Workshops: Access to annual retreats focused on public speaking, project management, and entrepreneurship.
• Internship Opportunities: Preference for internship placements within partner companies and nonprofit organizations.
• Alumni Community: Lifetime membership in the AndrewMcMorris Scholars Association, offering ongoing support and collaboration.

Application Process

1. Online Application Form

All candidates must complete the online application through the foundations portal. The form collects personal information, academic history, and financial data.

2. Upload Supporting Documents

Applicants must upload official transcripts, the personal essay, and recommendation letters in PDF format.

3. Review & Shortlist

The Scholarship Committee reviews each submission against the eligibility criteria and selects a shortlist of 30 candidates for virtual interviews.

4. Interview

Shortlisted applicants participate in a 30minute interview with two committee members. The interview focuses on leadership experiences and future aspirations.

5. Final Selection

After the interview stage, the committee selects up to 15 scholars for the current award cycle. Notification letters are sent via email by the end of June.
