Overview

The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) Scholarship is a competitive award designed to empower emerging leaders who demonstrate a commitment to personal growth, community service, and academic excellence. Established by the Center for Leadership Development, the scholarship supports students, recent graduates, and earlycareer professionals aiming to deepen their leadership capabilities through education, training, and experiential learning.

Who Is Eligible?

Eligibility criteria are intentionally broad to attract a diverse pool of applicants. In general, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (some scholarships are open to international students).
• Be enrolled in or have completed a degree program at an accredited college or university, or be within the first three years of professional employment.
• Demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
• Show a documented record of leadershipthrough student organizations, community initiatives, professional roles, or volunteer activities.
• Submit a clear statement of purpose outlining career goals and how the scholarship will enhance leadership development.

What the Scholarship Covers

The CLD Scholarship provides financial assistance that can be applied to a range of leadershipfocused expenses, such as:

• Tuition and fees for leadershiprelated courses, certificates, or graduate programs.
• Registration costs for national or international leadership conferences.
• Books, research materials, and technology needed for leadership projects.
• Travel expenses for servicelearning trips, study abroad programs, or mentorship opportunities.
• Professional development workshops, coaching sessions, and networking events.

Typical award amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000, with larger recognitions available for exceptional candidates.

Application Process

Applying for the CLD Scholarship involves several steps, each designed to evaluate a candidates leadership potential and alignment with the Centers mission.

2. Academic Transcript

Upload an official or unofficial transcript that confirms eligibility and academic standing.

3. Leadership Portfolio

5. Budget Proposal (Optional)

6. Submission Deadline
