Classical Guitar School adopts a holistic approach to guitar education that develops both technical skills and musical artistry. Our methodology is based on the following principles:
We emphasize the importance of proper playing mechanics from the very first lesson. Our instructors guide students through a systematic development of right-hand techniques (free stroke, rest stroke, rasgueado, tremolo, etc.) and left-hand techniques (scales, arpeggios, chords, shifts, position playing, etc.) to establish a solid foundation for musical expression.
Our curriculum is structured to introduce concepts and techniques at the appropriate moment in a student's development. Each level builds systematically upon the previous one, ensuring constant progress while preventing frustration from attempting material beyond one's current capabilities.
We believe that understanding historical context enriches performance. Students learn about musical styles from different periods (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern), national characteristics, and performance practices appropriate for each era.
Listening skills are cultivated through guided listening assignments, ear training exercises, and comparative analysis of different recordings. Students develop both critical listening abilities and an internal sense of pitch, rhythm, and phrasing.
Once technical fundamentals are established, our instructional focus shifts increasingly toward expression and interpretation. Students explore phrasing, articulation, tone color, and dynamics to develop their unique artistic voice.

Absolutely not! Our beginner courses assume no previous musical knowledge. We start from the very basics, including how to hold the guitar, proper posture, reading notation, and producing your first sounds. All you need is a classical guitar and the willingness to learn.
A nylon-string classical guitar is required. While steel-string acoustic guitars have certain similarities, they differ significantly in construction, string tension, technique, and the music typically played on them. If you need recommendations for purchasing an appropriate instrument, we have resources available on our blog.
We recommend aiming for at least 30 minutes of focused practice daily for steady progression. However, we understand that life circumstances vary, and our curriculum can be adapted to fit different practice schedules. Consistency is more important than quantity, so shorter daily practice sessions are more beneficial than infrequent marathon sessions.
While we don't offer formal academic degrees, we do provide completion certificates for each course level. These certificates can be valuable for demonstrating your commitment to learning and documenting your progress, though they are not equivalent to university credentials.
Yes, we have specialized courses designed for younger learners (ages 7-14) that use age-appropriate repertoire and teaching approaches. Our instructors have experience working with children and understand how to make learning guitar engaging and fun for young students.
