Introduction to Climate Change Adaptation

Climate change adaptation is not a choice but a necessity for communities worldwide. While the challenge is substantial, it also presents opportunities to build more resilient, equitable, and sustainable societies. By implementing thoughtful, science-based adaptation strategies while simultaneously pursuing ambitious mitigation efforts, we can navigate the climate challenges ahead while creating a better world for future generations.

The time for action is now. Every year of delayed adaptation planning increases vulnerability and future damages. With knowledge, innovation, cooperation, and political will, we can rise to the challenge of adapting to our changing climate while transforming our societies for the better.
