Department of Fine Arts Tuition Scholarship

Program Overview

The Department of Fine Arts (DFA) is committed to fostering artistic talent and removing financial barriers for aspiring creators. Each academic year we award a limited number of tuition scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate both artistic promise and a dedication to community engagement.

The scholarship covers up to 100% of tuition fees for the duration of the approved program, subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued adherence to scholarship conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet **all** of the following requirements:

  • Be officially admitted to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program within the Department of Fine Arts.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate a portfolio that reflects high artistic quality and conceptual depth.
  • Provide a personal statement that articulates career goals, community involvement, and how the scholarship will impact your artistic development.
  • Be a fulltime student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester).
  • U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or international students with valid study visas are eligible.

Students who have previously received a DFA tuition scholarship are not eligible to reapply for the same award.

How to Apply

All applications are submitted online through the University Scholarship Portal. Follow these steps:

  1. Create an account on the portal or log in using your university credentials.
  2. Navigate to **Scholarships Department of Fine Arts Tuition Scholarship**.
  3. Complete the electronic application form, providing:
    • Personal information and contact details.
    • Academic history (transcripts will be autolinked).
    • Upload a highresolution PDF of your portfolio (maximum 20 files, each 5MB).
    • Write a 500word personal statement.
    • Two letters of recommendation (faculty or professional mentors). Upload them as PDFs.
  4. Review all entries for accuracy.
  5. Click **Submit Application**. You will receive an automated confirmation email.

Incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified. Ensure that all required documents are uploaded before the deadline.
