Mission & Vision

The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (DHSH) is dedicated to ending chronic homelessness and ensuring that every resident has access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing. Our vision is a community where housing stability is the foundation for health, employment, and personal growth.

Key Programs

1. Rapid ReHousing Initiative (RRI)

RRI provides immediate temporary shelter and quickly transitions individuals into permanent housing. The program combines shortterm financial assistance, case management, and community placements.

2. Supportive Housing Units (SHU)

SHU integrates affordable housing with onsite social services, mentalhealth counseling, and employment support. Residents receive a personalized plan that addresses both housing needs and underlying challenges.

3. Prevention and Diversion Services (PDS)

PDS works to keep atrisk families and individuals from becoming homeless by offering rental assistance, mediation with landlords, and crisis counseling.

4. Youth Homelessness Outreach (YHO)

YHO targets young people aged 1624, providing safe shelters, educational resources, and mentorship programs to break the cycle of homelessness early.

5. Veteran Housing Support (VHS)

VHS partners with veterans organizations to deliver tailored housing solutions, including adaptive living units and specialized health services.

Success in homelessness prevention depends on coordinated effort. DHA works closely with:
