Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria vary according to the programme applied for. Some general requirements include:
Undergraduate Programmes
- For BA/B.Com/B.Sc: 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board
- For BCA: 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject
- For B.Ed: Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks (with relaxation for reserved categories)
- For BSW: 10+2 in any stream
Postgraduate Programmes
- For MA/M.Com/M.Sc: Bachelor's degree in relevant or related discipline
- For MCA: BCA or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics
- For MBA: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of work experience
- For M.Ed: B.Ed degree with at least 55% marks
Diploma/Certificate Programmes
- For Diploma: 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board

Admission Procedure
Candidates can apply for admission to IGNOU programmes through the following process:
Application Form
The application forms for admission to various programmes are available at all Regional Centres and Study Centres of IGNOU across the country. The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained by paying Rs. 500 at the counter or Rs. 550 through post.
Online Application
Candidates can also apply online through the official IGNOU website. The online application process requires filling in personal details, educational qualifications, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee electronically.
Document Submission
Applicants need to submit the following documents along with the application form:
- Attested copies of educational certificates
- Proof of date of birth
- Caste certificate (for reserved categories)
- Experience certificate (for MBA and some other programmes)
- Recent passport size photographs
Method of Payment
The application fee can be paid through:
- Demand Draft drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at the city of the Regional Centre
- Credit/Debit Card for online applicants
