3. Scheme of Teaching (SOT)
3.1 Lecture Sessions
Each credit corresponds to 12 lecture hours. Lectures are scheduled in 1hour slots, three days a week, with a blend of didactic teaching, casebased discussions, and interactive quizzes.
3.2 Laboratory Sessions
Practical work is conducted in wellequipped labs. Every lab credit comprises 24 contact hours (48 for a 2credit lab). Students follow a stepbystep protocol, maintain a laboratory notebook, and submit a postlab report evaluated for accuracy and scientific writing.
3.3 Tutorial / Seminar
Two weekly tutorials (1 hour each) are held for each core theory subject. These sessions focus on problem solving, literature search, and critical analysis of research papers.
3.4 SelfStudy & Assignments
Students are expected to allocate approximately 68 hours per credit per week for selfstudy, assignment preparation, and revision. Assignment submission deadlines are posted on the department portal.

4.2 EndSemester Examinations

4.4 ReEvaluation & Supplementary Exams
If a student obtains a grade point below 5 (i.e., grade D or F) in any core subject, a supplementary examination is offered in the next semester. The supplementary paper carries the same weight as the original theory exam but does not include internal assessment marks.
4.5 Attendance Requirement
Minimum attendance of 75% in both lectures and labs is mandatory. Attendance below this threshold results in an automatic deduction of 5% from the internal assessment component.
