The goal was to build a foundation for descriptive language, allowing students to identify and name common colors in Mandarin Chinese through interactive play, visual aids, and repetitive vocalization. The week began with the introduction of "Red" and "Yellow." Students were presented with flashcards featuring vibrant fruits and common objects. We practiced the pronunciation of Hngs and Hungs through call-and-response exercises. To reinforce learning, students participated in a "Color Hunt." Teachers called out a color name, and the children had to find an item in the classroom that matched that color. This physical engagement helped link the auditory term to the visual representation. Focusing on "Blue" and "Green," the students utilized watercolors. As they painted, they were encouraged to say the name of the color aloud in Mandarin. This sensory-based approach helped solidify the vocabulary of Lns and Ls. We read a simple story involving a rainbow. Whenever a color appeared on the page, the class would pause to identify it in Mandarin. This encouraged context-based learning rather than rote memorization. The final day was dedicated to a recap. We played a "Color Bingo" game where students listened to the Mandarin words and marked the corresponding colors on their boards.
