The Mitsubishi Corporation International Scholarship (MCIS) is a prestigious, meritbased program that supports talented students from around the world who wish to pursue graduate studies in Japan. Each year, a limited number of scholarships are awarded to outstanding candidates selected through a highly competitive process. Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of a country that has a bilateral agreement with Japan for higher education exchange (most countries qualify).
- Hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the local equivalent.
- Plan to enroll in a fulltime master's or doctoral program at a Japanese university that is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
- Demonstrate proficiency in English and/or Japanese, depending on the language of instruction of the chosen program.
- Possess strong leadership potential, a clear career vision, and an interest in fields relevant to Mitsubishis business areas.

Application Process
All applications are submitted online through the official MCIS portal. The process consists of three main stages:
1. Online Application
- Personal information and passport details.
- Academic transcripts and degree certificates (translated into English or Japanese).
- Proof of language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, JLPT, etc.).
- Curriculum Vitae (max. 2 pages).
- Two academic references (written in English or Japanese).
- Statement of Purpose (8001,200 words) outlining research interests, career goals, and how the scholarship will help achieve them.
2. University Admission
Candidates must secure an offer of admission from a Japanese university before the scholarship award is confirmed. The university will issue an official acceptance letter that must be uploaded to the MCIS portal.
3. Interview
Shortlisted applicants are invited to a video interview conducted by a panel of Mitsubishi representatives and academic advisors. The interview assesses motivation, leadership potential, and cultural adaptability.
