NLIU Graduate Insolvency Program Entrance Test (NLIUGIPET)2022

Overview

The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, launched the Graduate Insolvency Program (GIP) to produce specialists in insolvency law, restructuring, and corporate recovery. Admission to the program is through the NLIU Graduate Insolvency Program Entrance Test (NLIUGIPET)2022. The test is a singlestage, computerbased examination that assesses candidates aptitude for the rigorous curriculum and their potential to contribute to the evolving insolvency ecosystem in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• Possess a recognized graduation degree (any discipline) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).
• Be a citizen of India.
• Have completed the undergraduate program not later than 31December2022.
• Age limit: No upper age restriction; candidates must be at least 21years old on the day of the test.

Application Process

1. Visit the official portal nliu.ac.in/gipet2022 and click Apply Now.
2. Create a user ID and password; fill in personal, academic, and contact details.
3. Upload scanned copies of:
   • Recent passportsize photograph (JPEG, 10KB100KB)
   • Signature (JPEG, 10KB100KB)
   • Graduation degree certificate and mark sheets
4. Select a preferred test centre from the list of available cities.
5. Pay the application fee of INR2,500 (INR1,250 for SC/ST/PwD) via net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.
6. Submit the application and note the registration number for future reference.

Syllabus Highlights

English Language: Reading comprehension, para jumbles, synonyms/antonyms, grammar, and vocabulary.

Reasoning & Analytical Ability: Logical sequences, syllogisms, data interpretation, puzzles, and Venn diagrams.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Indian polity, economy, banking, recent developments in insolvency law, seminal Supreme Court judgments, and international events of 20212022.

Legal Aptitude: Basics of the Indian legal system, constitutional law, contract law, corporate law, and specific focus on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBRC) its structure, processes, and major amendments.

Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data sufficiency, and basic statistics.

Preparation Strategies

• Study Plan: Allocate 23hours daily; rotate sections to keep the mind fresh.

  • Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams by R.S. Aggarwal
  • Legal Aptitude for Law Entrance Exams by Dr. S. Srilakshmi
  • Current Affairs portals (e.g., PRS Legislative Research, The Hindu) for the last 12months.
• Mock Tests: Attempt at least 4 fulllength mock exams; analyse errors and focus on weak areas.
• Time Management: Practice the 1.2minute per question rule; use the onscreen calculator only when absolutely necessary.
• Revision: Reserve the final week for concise notes and quick revisions.

Result & Counselling

Results will be published on the official website with a unique rollnumber based scorecard. Candidates scoring above the cutoff will receive an invitation for online counselling. During counselling, applicants must:

• Verify documents (original degree, mark sheets, caste certificate, and PwD certificate if applicable).
• Pay the seatallocation fee (INR5,000).
• Select a preferred specialization (Insolvency Law, Corporate Restructuring, or Bankruptcy & Debt Recovery).

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in NLIUGIPET, with tiebreakers applied in the following order: higher marks in Legal Aptitude, then Reasoning, and finally the percentile in the overall test.
