About the Journal
The Open Access African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology (OAAPP) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical sciences across the African continent and beyond. Established in 2015, our journal provides a platform for researchers to disseminate findings, methodologies, and innovations in pharmacy practice, pharmacology, drug discovery, and pharmaceutical sciences.
As an open access publication, we believe in the democratization of knowledge and strive to make high-quality research available to readers worldwide without financial barriers. Submission Guidelines
The Open Access African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide. Manuscripts should be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Article Types

Preparation of Manuscripts
- Manuscripts should be submitted in English
- All text should be double-spaced with 12-point Times New Roman font
- Include an abstract of 150-250 words for research articles
- Provide 5-7 keywords
- Figures and tables should be submitted as separate files
- Follow the journal's reference style (Vancouver)
- Include a title page with authors' names, affiliations, and corresponding author's email
Submission Process
Submissions should be made through our online submission system at submit.oaapp.africa. First-time users are required to register for an account. All manuscripts undergo initial screening by the editorial office followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Important: Authors must disclose any financial support or relationships that may be interpreted as a conflict of interest in relation to the manuscript.

Article Processing Charges
To maintain our open access policy and cover publication costs, we charge a modest article processing fee (APC) of $300 for accepted manuscripts. This fee covers peer review, editing, production, and hosting costs.
Fee waivers or discounts are available for authors from low-income countries and for those facing genuine financial hardship. Please contact the editorial office for waiver requests before submission.
Publication Ethics
The Open Access African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics. We expect all authors, reviewers, and editors to conduct themselves with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Author Responsibilities
- Submit original work that has not been published elsewhere
- Adequately acknowledge all sources of information
- Disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be viewed as conflict of interest
- Obtain necessary ethical approvals for research involving human or animal subjects
- Ensure all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript
