Non-pressure Processes: Methods such as dipping, spraying, or brushing provide surface protection only. These are generally acceptable only for Class 1 and Class 2 applications or for re-treating cut ends of pre-treated timber.

  • Penetration Testing: Analyzing cross-sections of samples to ensure the preservative has reached the required depth.
  • Retention Analysis: Chemical assaying to determine the weight of the preservative per cubic meter of timber.
