Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator acts as the bridge between product development, production, and compliance teams. By monitoring processes, documenting results, and driving continuous improvement, the coordinator ensures that products meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements. This role is essential for safeguarding brand reputation, minimizing waste, and reducing the risk of costly recalls or rework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update quality management system (QMS) documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
• Coordinate internal and external audits; prepare audit schedules and followup on corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze, and report quality data (defect trends, PPAP results, CAPA effectiveness) to senior management.
• Facilitate crossfunctional rootcause investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) from identification through closure.
• Support supplier quality by reviewing incoming material certifications, performing supplier audits, and monitoring supplier performance metrics.
• Train staff on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and regulatory changes.
• Assist in the preparation of product release documentation and ensure release criteria are met.
• Maintain traceability records for critical components and finished goods.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide quality input early in the development cycle.

Typical Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 25 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, or a regulated environment.
• Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQM (Certified Quality Manager), or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly valued.
• Familiarity with GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or EU MDR, depending on industry.
• Proven record of leading audits, managing CAPA processes, and delivering measurable quality improvements.
