5.2 Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Physical tasks differ for male and female candidates. Typical male PET includes:

  • 100meter sprint 13 seconds
  • 800meter run 5 minutes 30 seconds
  • Press-ups 30 reps
  • Peakload pushup 12 reps

Female PET standards are proportionately lower. Candidates who fail any component are eliminated.

5.3 Final Merit List

The final merit list is prepared based on the combined score of PST (60%) and PET (40%). Candidates meeting the cutoff are called for document verification and final medical examination at the BSF training centre.
