The Nunavut Settlement Area (NSA) includes a vast tracts of land that were set aside for Inuit under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA). When the territorial government enters into a realproperty lease that exceeds $100,000, the transaction must be disclosed on a quarterly basis. These disclosures promote transparency, enable public scrutiny and support fiscal accountability for the Crown and its agencies. Quarterly reports are compiled by the Office of the Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance and Corporate Services and are published on the Government of Nunavuts open data portal. The reports cover all leases signed, renewed, amended or terminated during the reporting period and provide a snapshot of the financial commitments the territory has made in the NSA. The reporting regime is derived from three principal sources: Failure to comply may trigger remedial actions, including audit findings, potential penalties, and a requirement to publicly correct the record. Each quarterly report must contain the following elements: All departments must adhere to the schedule below for the 20262027 fiscal year: Late submissions may result in a formal note of noncompliance and could affect the departments performance evaluation.
