Note on Plagiarism: Plagiarism, the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit, is a serious violation of research integrity. This includes self-plagiarism, where an author presents portions of their own previously published work as new without citation.
Research involving human participants carries a profound ethical responsibility. The history of medical research includes unfortunate chapters where individuals were harmed in the name of science. To prevent such abuses, modern research is governed by the principles of the Belmont Report: Respect for Persons, Beneficence, and Justice.
Respect for Persons requires that participants enter the research voluntarily and with adequate information.
