Overview

The Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick (TIANB) Scholarship is a prestigious award designed to support students who demonstrate a passion for tourism, hospitality, and the vibrant culture of New Brunswick. Established to nurture future leaders, the scholarship reflects the associations commitment to building a skilled workforce that will sustain and grow the provinces tourism sector.

Who Is Eligible?

The scholarship is open to:

  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Students enrolled in an accredited postsecondary program related to tourism, hospitality, culinary arts, event management, or related fields.
  • Applicants who plan to study at a college, university, or vocational institute in New Brunswick or elsewhere in Canada.
  • Students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent) on a 4.0 scale.
  • Individuals who demonstrate community involvement, leadership, and a clear career interest in New Brunswicks tourism industry.

What the Scholarship Covers

Each award provides up to CAD2,500 towards tuition, books, or related educational expenses. In some cases, multiple awards are granted in a single year, allowing a broader group of students to benefit.

Application Process

1. Gather Required Documents

  • Completed application form (available on the TIANB website).
  • Official transcript(s) from the most recent academic term.
  • A current resume highlighting relevant experience.
  • Two letters of reference at least one from an academic source.
  • Personal statement (500800 words) outlining career goals, connection to New Brunswick tourism, and how the scholarship will help achieve those goals.

2. Submit Online

All materials must be uploaded through the secure portal on the TIANB website before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

3. Review and Selection

A panel consisting of tourism industry leaders, educators, and TIANB board members evaluates applications based on academic achievement, community involvement, and demonstrated commitment to the tourism sector.

4. Notification

Successful candidates are notified by email in early summer. Winners are also announced at the annual TIANB conference.
