Turkish Language Level 2 Training Course

Course Overview

The Level2 course focuses on expanding vocabulary, mastering more complex grammatical structures, and improving listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Over twelve weeks, students engage with authentic Turkish materialsnews articles, short stories, dialogues, and cultural videoswhile receiving guided practice from experienced instructors.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the main ideas of clear standard speech on familiar topics.
• Produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
• Describe experiences, events, dreams and ambitions using a range of past, present and future tenses.
• Use common idiomatic expressions and expand colloquial vocabulary.
• Develop cultural awareness through exposure to Turkish media, customs, and everyday life.

Curriculum Outline

Week12: Review & Expansion

Quick revision of Level1 fundamentals followed by introduction of 300 new lexical items, focusing on adjectives, adverbs and everyday verbs.

Week34: Past Tenses

Simple past (dili gemi), past continuous, and past perfect forms. Practice through storytelling and personal narratives.

Week56: Future & Conditional

Future simple (ecek/acak), immediate future (yor), and firstlevel conditionals. Roleplays for travel plans and hypothetical situations.

Week78: Complex Sentences

Relative clauses, conjunctions (nk, fakat, ancak), and indirect speech. Reading comprehension with short news excerpts.

Week910: Listening & Pronunciation

Authentic audio from TV shows and podcasts. Focus on intonation, vowel harmony, and stress patterns.

Week1112: Project & Review

Group project create a minidocumentary about a Turkish tradition. Final review and feedback session.
