Regular attendance is strongly recommended as mathematical concepts build upon each other. Excessive absence (typically more than three unexcused absences) may result in a lowering of the course grade.
Late homework may be accepted with a penalty of 10% per day for up to three days after the deadline. Quizzes and exams may only be made up with documented emergencies and prior notification when possible. Documentation such as a medical excuse note must be provided for missed exams.
A graphing calculator is required for this course. The TI-83 Plus, TI-84, or TI-Nspire are recommended. The instructor will specify which calculator features may be used during quizzes and exams. Calculators with computer algebra systems (CAS) or those capable of symbolic manipulation may not be permitted on assessments.
