The VIBZ Scholarship 2022 is a competitive award offered by the VIBZ Foundation to support highachieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership potential. Established in 2015, the scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers for deserving candidates pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at accredited institutions worldwide.
For 2022, the foundation allocated a total of $250,000 across multiple award categories, ranging from partial tuition assistance to fullride scholarships. The program also provides mentorship opportunities, networking events, and a platform for recipients to engage in community projects.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of a VIBZ member country.
- Enroll in an accredited university or college for the 20222023 academic year.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Show documented involvement in community service, leadership roles, or extracurricular activities.
- Submit an original personal essay (max 1,000 words) that outlines academic goals and how the scholarship will impact future plans.
Students pursuing any field of study are welcome, though preference may be given to programs related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), public policy, and social entrepreneurship.
What Recipients Receive
The VIBZ Scholarship package includes:
- Financial Support: Up to $15,000 per academic year, renewable for up to three years based on performance.
- Mentorship: Pairing with a VIBZ alumnus or industry professional for career guidance.
- Professional Development: Access to workshops, webinars, and conferences hosted by the foundation.
- Community Project Grant: A $2,000 grant to initiate a service project aligned with VIBZs mission.
- Networking: Invitation to the annual VIBZ Scholars Summit.
How to Apply
The application process consists of three main steps:
- Online Registration: Create an account on the VIBZ portal and complete the personal information form.
- Document Upload: Provide a scanned copy of your latest transcript, two letters of recommendation, proof of enrollment, and your personal essay.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a virtual interview with the selection committee.
All materials must be submitted through the secure online portal. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
