Conference Overview
The 22nd Scientific Conference of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) brings together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, industry experts and graduate students to discuss the latest advances in nutrition science, public health nutrition, food technology and dietetics. Building on the success of previous meetings, this edition emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, innovative research methods and the translation of evidence into practice.
With over 500 delegates expected from across ASEAN, East Asia, Europe and North America, the conference provides an ideal platform for networking, mentorship and knowledge exchange. All sessions are conducted in English to foster international participation.
Conference Themes & Topics
The scientific program is organized around three core themes:
- Food Systems & Sustainable Nutrition exploring the nexus between agriculture, climate change, food security and nutritional outcomes.
- Clinical & Translational Nutrition latest findings on nutrition therapy for chronic diseases, precision nutrition, and nutrigenomics.
- Public Health & Policy strategies for improving population diets, nutrition education, and regulatory frameworks.
Within these themes, 12 subtopics will be addressed, including:
- Plantbased protein alternatives and their nutritional quality.
- Micronutrient deficiencies in vulnerable groups.
- Gut microbiota modulation through diet.
- Nutrition labeling, frontofpack claims and consumer perception.
- Digital health tools for dietary monitoring.
- Nutrition interventions in schools and workplaces.

Travel
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is the main gateway. A 45minute express train (KLIA Ekspres) connects the airport to KL Sentral, from where the LRT Kelana Jaya line reaches PWTC in approximately 15minutes. Taxi and rideshare services are also widely available.
Visa & Health
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or an evisa. Visitors are advised to check the latest Malaysian immigration guidelines. COVID19 vaccination status will be recorded at entry, but no mandatory testing is required for fully vaccinated guests.
