1. Accountancy

Accountancy is the backbone of the Commerce stream. In the 2020-21 session, the curriculum was designed to build a strong foundation in financial recording and analysis.

• Theoretical Framework: Introduction to Accounting, Theory Base of Accounting.
• Accounting Process: Recording of Transactions (Journal, Ledger, Cash Book, Subsidiary Books), Bank Reconciliation Statement, Trial Balance and Rectification of Errors.
• Financial Statements: Financial Statements of Sole Proprietorship, Adjustments in Financial Statements.

2. Business Studies

This subject offers insights into how businesses operate within the economic environment. The syllabus was divided into two main parts:

• Part A: Foundations of Business: Evolution and Fundamentals of Business, Forms of Business Organisations, Public, Private and Global Enterprises, Business Services, Emerging Modes of Business, Social Responsibilities of Business and Business Ethics.

3. Economics

Economics in Class 11 is divided into Statistics and Microeconomics.

• Statistics for Economics: Introduction, Collection, Organisation and Presentation of Data, Statistical Tools and Interpretation (Measures of Central Tendency, Correlation, Index Numbers).
• Introductory Microeconomics: Introduction, Consumer's Equilibrium and Demand, Producer Behaviour and Supply, Forms of Market and Price Determination under Perfect Competition.

4. English Core

The English curriculum focused on enhancing reading, writing, and analytical skills through literature and grammar.

• Reading Comprehension: Unseen passages for note-making and summarization.
• Writing Skills: Classified advertisements, poster making, speech writing, and debate writing.
• Grammar: Determiners, Tenses, Re-ordering of sentences.

5. Optional Subjects

Depending on the school, students usually opt for one of the following subjects:

• Informatics Practices (IP): Introduction to computers, basic Python programming, and data handling.
