CVS Health Foundation Scholarship Program

Program Overview

The CVS Health Foundation Scholarship Program is a national, meritbased award that supports undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in healthrelated fields. Established to foster the next generation of healthcare professionals, the program aims to reduce financial barriers, encourage community involvement, and promote a diverse workforce in the healthcare industry.

Each year, the foundation selects a limited number of scholars from across the United States. Recipients receive a onetime financial award that can be applied toward tuition, books, or other qualified educational expenses. In addition to monetary assistance, scholars gain access to a network of peers, mentors, and industry leaders through exclusive events and online platforms.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
• Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year.
• Pursue a degree in one of the following fields:
  • Pharmacy
  • Nursing
  • Public health
  • Health informatics
  • Medicine
  • Allied health professions (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy)
  • Health administration
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate a commitment to community service, especially in healthrelated initiatives.
• Submit a completed application by the deadline (typically early May).

Scholarship Benefits

Selected scholars receive a $2,500 award that can be used for:

• Tuition and fees
• Books, supplies, and equipment
• Living expenses related to coursework

Beyond the financial award, scholars enjoy:

• Mentorship: Oneonone guidance from experienced CVS Health professionals.
• Networking: Invitations to annual scholarship conferences, webinars, and regional meetups.
• Career development: Access to internship and jobshadowing opportunities within the CVS Health system.
• Community projects: Funding and support for a healthfocused service project of the scholars choosing.

Application Process

1. Create an account: Visit the official scholarship portal and register with a valid email address.
2. Complete the personal profile: Provide demographic information, academic history, and contact details.
3. Upload supporting documents:
   • Official transcript (or unofficial for early drafts)
   • Resume or curriculum vitae
   • Two letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional or communityservice based)
   • Personal essay (500800 words) answering the prompts below
4. Essay prompts: Applicants must address:
   1. Why you have chosen a career in health care and how this scholarship will help you achieve that goal.
   2. A specific example of a community service experience that shaped your perspective on health equity.
   3. Your vision for the future of health care and the role you hope to play.
5. Submit the application: Review all entries for accuracy, then click Submit. You will receive a confirmation email with a reference number.
6. Selection timeline:
   • Application deadline early May
   • Review period May to June
   • Notification of finalists late June
   • Final selection & award ceremony August (virtual)
