CVS Health Minority Scholarship for Pharmacy Students
Program Overview
The CVS Health Minority Scholarship for Pharmacy Students is a national initiative designed to increase diversity within the pharmacy profession. Each year, CVS Health awards multiple scholarships to undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students who identify as members of an underrepresented minority group. Eligibility Requirements
Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or hold an eligible visa.
Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program or a related undergraduate pharmacy track.
Identify as a member of one or more of the following groups: African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaska Native, Pacific Islander, or other underrepresented minorities.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Demonstrate a clear interest in pursuing a career in pharmacy that impacts underserved communities.
What the Scholarship Provides
Recipients of the CVS Health Minority Scholarship receive:
Financial support ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 per academic year.
Recognition on the CVS Health website and at local CVS Health events.
Opportunities to network with CVS Health professionals, including pharmacists, managers, and executives.
Invitation to an exclusive mentorship program that pairs scholars with seasoned CVS pharmacists.
Eligibility for future internships and employment opportunities within CVS Health.
Application Process
The application is submitted entirely online through the CVS Health scholarship portal. The process consists of the following steps:
Create an account on the portal and verify your email address.
Complete the personal information section, including contact details and demographic data.
Upload supporting documents: official transcript, resume/CV, and a recent passportstyle photo.
Write a 500word essay addressing the prompt: Describe how you plan to use your pharmacy education to improve health outcomes for minority or underserved populations.
Provide two letters of recommendation one academic (professor or advisor) and one professional (employer, volunteer supervisor, or community leader).
Submit the application and receive a confirmation email with a tracking number.
All applications are reviewed by a committee of CVS Health representatives and faculty members from pharmacy schools.
