Holiday Homework - Class XII Science
Welcome to your holiday homework guide for Class XII Science. The purpose of holiday homework is not just to keep you engaged academically during your break but also to reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom and help prepare you for upcoming examinations.
Important Note: Holiday homework constitutes 10% of your internal assessment for the academic year. Please ensure timely submission.
Subject-wise Assignments
Physics
- Solve 20 numerical problems from Chapter 2 (Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance) and Chapter 3 (Current Electricity) from NCERT textbook.
- Create a working model or presentation on any one of the following topics:
- Electromagnetic Induction and its applications
- Wave Optics - Young's Double Slit Experiment
- Semiconductor Electronics
- Write a detailed report on the evolution of atomic models with diagrams, discussing Bohr model, Sommerfeld model, and Quantum Mechanical model.
- Record 5 real-life applications of Physics principles you observe during your holidays with photographs and explanations.
Chemistry
- Prepare a project on "Environmental Chemistry: Impact of Industrial Pollution" including:
- Chemical reactions causing pollution
- Case studies of major pollution incidents
- Methods to reduce industrial pollution
- Complete all textual questions of solid state and solutions chapters.
- Collect samples of at least 8 different metals, observe their reactions with dilute acids, water, and air, and document your findings.
- Draw the 3D structures of all organic compounds mentioned in the syllabus up to now with IUPAC names.
Mathematics
- Solve all examples and exercises from Chapter 5 (Continuity and Differentiability) and Chapter 6 (Application of Derivatives).
- Create a chart showing all important trigonometric identities and their derivations.
- Prepare 10 challenging problems on integration with their step-by-step solutions.
- Write a short biography of a famous mathematician highlighting their contribution to calculus.
Biology
- Prepare a herbarium of 15 different plants found in your locality, properly labeled with their botanical names and families.
- Write a comprehensive report on "Human Health and Diseases" covering:
- Types of immunity
- Common diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoans
- Prevention and control measures
- Visit a nearby hospital or clinic and interview a doctor or nurse about common health issues in your community. Submit a report with your findings.
- Draw well-labeled diagrams of human excretory system and explain filtration and reabsorption process in nephron.
Computer Science (if applicable)
- Create a Python program implementing a database management system for a school library.
- Design a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript showcasing your achievements and interests.
- Solve 20 programming problems covering lists, tuples, dictionaries, and sets.
- Write a comparative analysis between different data structures and their appropriate use cases.

Late Submission Policy: Assignments submitted after the deadline will receive a 10% deduction in marks per day of delay.
