Notice for Assignment Submission
All students enrolled in the M.Sc. Environmental Science program at IGNOU through Study Centre No. 1236 (Government Degree College, Baramulla) are hereby informed about the upcoming assignment submission requirements and deadlines.
Assignments are a mandatory component of your academic evaluation and must be submitted as per the guidelines mentioned below. Non-submission will result in disqualification from the term-end examinations.
Last Date of Submission
Without Late Fee: 30th September 2023
With Late Fee of 1000: 31st October 2023
Assignment Submission Process
Students must follow the process outlined below for successful submission of their assignments:
- Prepare assignments on A4 size paper as per the guidelines provided in your programme guide.
- Write your enrollment number, name, programme code, and course code on the top of each assignment.
- Attach the assignment front page (available at the study centre) for each assignment.
- Submit assignments in person at the IGNOU Study Centre (Room No. 12, Science Block, Government Degree College, Baramulla) between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on working days.
- Collect the acknowledgment receipt after submission.

Important Instructions
- Assignments should be written in your own handwriting to avoid rejection.
- Poor quality assignments may be rejected.
- Make sure to answer all questions as per the instructions given in the assignment sheet.
- Word limit should be strictly followed for each question.
- Use a blue or black pen for writing assignments.
- Ensure each assignment is bound separately with appropriate front page.
- Students failing to submit assignments will not be eligible to appear for the term-end examination.
- Assignment marks constitute 30% of the total evaluation.
- Retain a copy of all submitted assignments for your reference.
Assignment Evaluation Process
After submission, assignments will be evaluated by the counsellors assigned for each course. The evaluation process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Students can check their assignment marks through the IGNOU student portal or by visiting the study centre.
Late Submission Policy
Assignments submitted after the deadline (30th September 2023) but before 31st October 2023 will be accepted only with a late fee of 1000. The late fee can be paid through demand draft drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi or through online payment at the official IGNOU website.
Assignments submitted after 31st October 2023 will strictly not be accepted, and students will not be eligible to appear for the upcoming term-end examination for the respective courses.
