MP Police Constable Syllabus 2020

Introduction

The Madhya Pradesh Police Constable (MPPC) examination is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) to recruit candidates for the post of Constable in the state police force. The 2020 syllabus outlines the subjects, topics, and weightage of each section that aspirants must master to succeed in the written test, physical test, and medical examination.

General Studies (PaperI)

The General Studies paper carries 100 marks and consists of multiplechoice questions. The major areas are:

• Basic Economic Concepts GDP, GNP, inflation, fiscal & monetary policy.
• Indian Economy Planning, Five Year Plans, Agriculture, Industry, Services.
• Banking & Finance RBI functions, financial inclusion.

5. General Science & Technology

• Physics Motion, Work, Energy, Simple Machines.
• Chemistry Atomic structure, Chemical reactions, Acids & bases.
• Biology Human body systems, Genetics, Ecology.
• Technology Information Technology, Space & Satellite, Internet basics.

6. Current Affairs

• National & International events of the last 12 months.
• Government schemes & policies.
• Important awards, sports achievements, scientific discoveries.

Aptitude Test (PaperII)

The Aptitude paper also carries 100 marks and tests logical reasoning and quantitative ability.

Quantitative Aptitude

• Number Systems Divisibility, Remainders, LCM & HCF.
• Arithmetic Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount.
• Algebra Linear equations, Quadratic equations, Progressions.
• Geometry & Mensuration Areas, Volumes, Surface area, Perimeter.
• Data Interpretation Tables, Bar charts, Pie charts, Line graphs.

Logical Reasoning

• Verbal Reasoning Analogies, Coding & Decoding, Series, Blood Relations.
• Nonverbal Reasoning Seating arrangements, Puzzles, Directions, Logical sequences.

Test Pattern

Physical & Medical Standards

After clearing the written examination, candidates must appear for the Physical Endurance Test (PET) and a Medical Examination.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

• Running: 100 meters for males ( 13 seconds) and females ( 16 seconds).
• Long Jump: Minimum 1.6 meters for males and 1.2 meters for females.
• High Jump: Minimum 1.3 meters for males and 1.0 meters for females.

Medical Fitness

• Height: Minimum 165 cm (male), 152 cm (female).
• Chest: Minimum 79 cm (male) with expansion of 5 cm; 70 cm (female) with expansion of 4 cm.
• Vision: Normal unaided vision (6/6) or corrected to normal.
• General health: No chronic disease, no history of epilepsy, no color blindness, etc.

Effective Preparation Strategies

1. Understand the syllabus: Break down each topic, note the weightage, and allocate study time accordingly.
2. Create a timetable: Reserve daily slots for General Studies, Aptitude, and physical training. Consistency beats cramming.
3. Use standard references: NCERT books (Class612) for History, Geography, Polity, Economy, and Science. Follow a reputable currentaffairs magazine.
4. Practice previous papers: Solve at least 5 years of MPPC question papers to understand question pattern and time management.
5. Take mock tests: Simulate the fulllength test weekly. Analyze errors and work on weak areas.
6. Physical training: Start a jogging routine, practice jumps, and follow a balanced diet to meet height/weight criteria.
7. Revision: Reserve the last two weeks for quick revision of formulas, important dates, and current affairs.
8. Stay healthy: Adequate sleep, hydration, and stressrelief activities help maintain focus.
