NorthWest Senior & Disability Services is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through comprehensive support services. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and independence, regardless of age or ability. NorthWest Senior & Disability Services was founded in 1985 with a clear mission: to provide comprehensive support to seniors and individuals with disabilities in our community. What began as a small volunteer-run operation has grown into a regional organization providing essential services to thousands of individuals each year. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that aging and living with disability should not mean losing independence or quality of life. We work closely with individuals, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to create a network of support that addresses the diverse needs of those we serve. Our staff of over 200 professionals includes social workers, nurses, case managers, caregivers, activity coordinators, and support staff who are dedicated to our mission. With an annual budget of $8 million, we deliver services through a combination of government funding, private donations, and fee-for-service programs. NorthWest Senior & Disability Services offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities in our community. Our trained caregivers provide personalized assistance with daily activities including personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication management. This service enables clients to remain safely in their own homes while maintaining their independence. Our adult day health centers offer structured programs in safe, supportive environments where participants can socialize, engage in stimulating activities, receive health monitoring, and enjoy nutritious meals. These programs also provide much-needed respite for family caregivers. Our professional case managers help clients navigate the complex healthcare and social service systems. They develop personalized care plans, coordinate services, advocate for clients' needs, and connect individuals with appropriate community resources. We provide accessible transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, social activities, and other essential errands. Our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and our drivers are trained to assist individuals with mobility challenges. Our nutrition services include home-delivered meals, congregate dining at senior centers, and nutrition education. These programs help ensure proper nutrition for seniors and individuals with disabilities who may have difficulty preparing healthy meals. We offer temporary care solutions giving family caregivers a break from their responsibilities. Our respite services can be provided in-home, at our adult day centers, or through short-term stays at partner facilities, ensuring caregivers get the rest they need. We help individuals identify, acquire, and learn to use assistive technology that enhances independence and safety at home. From simple devices like grab bars and medication reminders to complex home modification projects, we provide solutions tailored to each person's needs. Our behavioral health program offers counseling, support groups, and mental health services addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment to life changes. We provide both individual and group therapy options. We work to prevent and address elder and vulnerable adult abuse through education, screening, case investigation, and intervention services. Our team collaborates with law enforcement and protective services to ensure safety for at-risk individuals. Our experienced team provides compassionate support and resources for individuals and families facing end-of-life decisions. Services include advance care planning consultation, support for completing advance directives, and connection to hospice and palliative care resources. Our services are designed to assist seniors (typically age 60+) and adults with disabilities who may require support to maintain independence and quality of life. We are committed to making essential support accessible to everyone who needs it. In addition to our direct services, NorthWest Senior & Disability Services provides access to valuable information and resources to help seniors and individuals with disabilities navigate the challenges they may face. Our comprehensive resource library contains information on a wide range of topics including health conditions, caregiving, legal issues, financial planning, housing options, and more. We regularly offer workshops and seminars on topics relevant to seniors and individuals with disabilities, such as fall prevention, medication management, advance care planning, benefits counseling, and technology skills. These sessions are free and open to the public. Our support groups provide opportunities for individuals facing similar challenges to share experiences, gain emotional support, and learn from one another.
