NPPF Open Undergraduate Scholarship

The NPPF Open Undergraduate Scholarship is a meritbased award offered by the National Programme for Partnership and Funding (NPPF) to support highachieving students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited university. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers, encourage academic excellence, and promote a diverse, inclusive student body.

Who Can Apply?

• Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the sponsoring country.
• Must have secured a place in an eligible undergraduate program for the upcoming academic year.
• Must have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (or the equivalent) in their secondary education.
• Demonstrated leadership, community involvement, or extracurricular achievement is strongly recommended.
• Applicants must not be receiving any other fully funded scholarship for the same program.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

The scholarship is open in that it can be applied to a variety of costs, up to a maximum award of USD10,000 per academic year. Covered expenses may include:

• Tuition fees (full or partial)
• Required textbooks and course materials
• Accommodation or housing allowances
• Living expenses such as meals, transport, and personal items
• Onetime costs such as studyabroad fees or earlyyear orientation programs

Application Process

1. Online Registration Create an account on the NPPF portal and fill out the personal information section.
2. Academic Documentation Upload certified copies of transcripts, the admission letter from the university, and proof of English proficiency (if applicable).
3. Essay Submit a 500word personal statement describing your academic goals, career aspirations, and how the scholarship will help you achieve them.
4. Letters of Recommendation Provide two references from teachers, mentors, or community leaders who can attest to your character and achievements.
5. Financial Information Complete the financial need questionnaire (optional the scholarship is meritbased, but additional points are awarded for demonstrable need).
6. Submit Review all entries and click Submit. You will receive an automatic confirmation email.

Selection Criteria

The selection committee evaluates applications on the following weighted criteria:

• Academic Merit (40%) GPA, standardized test scores, and the rigor of secondary courses.
• Leadership & Community Service (30%) Involvement in clubs, volunteer work, or initiatives that have a measurable impact.
• Personal Statement (20%) Clarity of goals, relevance to the chosen field of study, and alignment with NPPFs values.
• Financial Need (10%) Considered only when the applicant pool is large and the merit scores are closely matched.

Important Dates (20262027 Cycle)

Renewal and Academic Progress

Recipients may apply for renewal for up to three additional years, provided they maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3 and submit an annual progress report outlining:

• Course grades and credits earned
• Any leadership roles or community projects undertaken during the year
• Financial summary of scholarship utilization

Failure to meet the academic or reporting requirements may result in nonrenewal.
