Overview

The Robert Alcorn Memorial Arts Scholarship was established in honor of Robert Alcorn, a dedicated patron of the visual and performing arts. The scholarship aims to recognize and financially support students who demonstrate exceptional artistic talent, academic promise, and a commitment to contributing to their artistic community.

Each year, a panel of artists, educators, and community leaders reviews applications and selects scholars who embody the spirit of creativity, perseverance, and leadership that Robert Alcorn championed throughout his life.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a fulltime student enrolled in a recognized college, university, or art institute in the United States.
• Declare a major or concentration in a visual, performing, literary, or multidisciplinary art field.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate financial need, as defined by the FAFSA or equivalent documentation.
• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Submit a portfolio or work sample that reflects original artistic achievement (format specifications are listed in the application section).

Benefits

The scholarship provides a onetime award of $4,000, payable directly to the recipients institution. In addition to the monetary award, scholars receive:
